From The Beginning….
Originally a Miami-based celebrity stylist with Jamaican roots, KEYSHIA DIOR, got her modeling start in late 2009 when Director Paul Coy Allen cast her for a starring role as “Lisa”, the jealous ex-wife in the Timbaland & Drake mini-movie /music video, “Say Something”.
After seeing the debut of the “Say Something” video, digital strategist, @MostCold, connected with the model to begin work on digital marketing strategy and social media marketing. Keyshia Dior already had an iconic style & physical presence that separated her from the rest …and now after a new referral… the MODERN WHOLE team would help her build an iconic, polished digital brand & presence to match.
MODERN WHOLE initially worked with Keyshia to re-design and re-launch a temporary landing page, optimize her Facebook and Twitter social media strategy and other behind-the-scenes digital strategy functions (url acquisition, content strategy, content production)
Soon after, the soon-to-be entrepreneur and model, embarked on a 2010 whirlwind push which led to modeling features in countless music videos, covers on several national magazines and culminated with winning nationwide recognition as the 2010 XXL Magazine Model of the Year. After a outstanding 2010, Keyshia Dior & Modern Whole succeeded in solidifying her personal and digital brand as a model and fashion trendsetter. We officially launched her the full version of her website, www.KeyshiaDior.com, which featured photography from Alain Green and close-up shots of multi-colored bright lipstick shades that Keyshia Dior was currently still hand-making.
The website site launch was a success!! We continued to use the new website as a destination to blend “Keyshia Dior” content strategy and social media strategy into one consitent, digital platform. Keyshia also used the website as a launching pad for extremely popular Ustream sessions with her growing fan-base on Twitter and Facebook (before Instagram! lol)
Launch of KA’OIR Cosmetics
2010 was great…. But “Keyshia Dior” had MORE in store! After realizing she was still “hand-making” the popular “blue lipstick” she was known for, the budding businesswoman decided to follow her entrepreneurial spirit and answer the call of her fans by commercially creating an exclusive assortment of bright colored lipsticks for herself & her loyal #DiorDoll fanbase. So in 2011, the growing mogul known as Keyshia Dior, formally changed her name to “KEYSHIA KA’OIR“ to stand behind her brand and launch the vibrant new makeup company…. KA’OIR COSMETICS.
From the ground up, MODERN WHOLE provided KA’OIR with digital strategy, branding, logo design, web design, product / retail sku strategy and e-commerce development for the game-changing cosmetics brand.
